This post is about one of our art projects. While we enjoy creating models and visuals especially with cinema4D, we also sometimes like to try drawing with brushes and paint. Recently we got an idea for a combined piece of both computer generated images and a hand drawn background.
We imagined a hand drawn background with a strong red color and visible brush strokes. On top are grids of connected nodes which are computer generated. It is this mixing of computer and human generated images that we strived for.
There are two ways to bring those two elements together, either in the real world or the computer. We printed the grid on a transparent sheet and put it on top of the background and we scanned the drawing into the computer and used it as background for the render. Here's a flowchart of the concept:
Finally there are two versions of the piece. The digital version which we uploaded to our artstation account and the real world version, which we framed.
